The 2007 Honda civic Hybrid will run you approximately $22,000 without any of the special add-on features. If you’re going to buy a hybrid with features such as the Satellite-Linked Navigation System™ and fog lights and all of that, you’re looking at a $30,000 vehicle. All prices aside, I will take you into this vehicle and show you what it’s all about.
Honda Civic Hybrid Standard Features
The first standard feature on the list is Multipoint fuel injection. Multipoint fuel injection is a system that injects the fuel into each cylinder as opposed to a carburetor or throttle body injections that injects fuel at one point in the intake system.
Next we have the, Drive-by-Wire Throttle System which improves engine efficiency while reducing vehicle emissions. The way this is done is it replaces the old throttle control system with an electronic system that is more accurate, requires no oil or service, and does not get affected by outside forces such as hot or cold weather.
Following that we have front-wheel drive. This feature obviously means the front, rather than that rear wheels move the car. There are many reasons for this that has to do with control and handling.
Direct Ignition System with Immobilizer is the next feature. Theoretically, the advantage of this system rather than traditional ignition systems is that it doesn’t have parts that can wear out and cause you problems in the future when you try to start your car.
Next on the list we have unit-body construction. This is a system that just tries to lower the weight of the car so it’s fuel efficient.
This vehicle also comes with, MacPherson strut front suspension which is not better than double wishbone suspension but it’s still better than most. Only problem with this is that the wheel actually will bend in which effects the sharpness of the turn. Well, at least you get to save a few bucks here because of this feature.
Lastly, this vehicle comes with a spare tire like many other cars do just to add that extra feature on the list.
Honda Civic Hybrid Specifications
The Honda Civic Hybrid runs on an In-Line 4-Cylinder aluminum-alloy engine. It has a 1339 cc. displacement, 110 @ 6000 horsepower, 123 @ 1000-2500 toque, and 10:8:1 compression ratio. It received an AT-PZEV fuel rating (best) which determines how well it runs on the same amount of fuel compared to other cars.
Honda Civic Hybrid Mileage
This hybrid vehicle gets approximately 49 miles per gallon (51 highway) meaning you will get more for the money. If you want to see how much you can save, head over to the Hybrid Honda Civil official site (http://automobiles.honda.com) and use there savings calculator. The hybrid only requires unleaded gasoline in case you were wondering.
Honda Civic Hybrid Measurements
The following are measurements that depict the volume inside the vehicle. If you’re a big person, you will need to look for these to make sure you’re comfortable. In any case, the only reason why I condone the use of a large car is 1) camping equipment, 2) big people. You have to be comfortable and if your not, you have my blessing to pollute. The head room for a Honda Civic is approximately 39 inches in the front and 37 inches in the back. The leg room is approximately 42 inches in the front and 34 inches in the back. The shoulder room in the front is approximately 54 inches in the front and 52 inches in the back.
Honda Civic Hybrid Awards for 2007
This vehicle has won the 2007 car of the year because it is a useful vehicle, it’s affordable, and practical for all drivers today. It was also chosen because it is a good choice for first time drivers. This is important because the car people drive when there young is the brand they like to stick with later on.
Consumer guide named the Honda Civil Hybrid the best buy for compact cars. Out of 80 or so cars, this vehicle one based on, such as price, features, performance, accommodations, fuel economy, reliability records and resale value.
Finally, the Honda received the CarDomain People’s Choice Award for “Most Mod-Friendly Car.” This award is given to the car voted on by more than 1 million visitors of cardomain.com.
This is the gist of the Honda Civic Hybrid. If you would like more information to purchase one of these vehicles today, please visit the official site for more information.

VW's Touareg BlueTDI - World's Cleanest Diesel Engine
By Benjamin Hudson
Volkswagen’s Touareg has one of the cleanest diesel engines in the world. Its BlueTDI engine with SCR catalytic converter reduces nitrogen dioxide (NOx) emissions by up to 90 percent. Touareg BlueTDI delivers 165kW/225 PS and meets even the strictest “Tier2 Bin5” exhaust emissions standards implemented in the US states particularly in California, Massachusetts, New York, Vermont, and Maine.
In the USA economical turbo-diesels like the V6 BlueTDI more than any present day powertrain technology can help in reducing oil consumption and the generation of climate-impacting greenhouse gases. Volkswagen will offer the Touareg with the SCR catalytic converter starting 2008 first in the US as part of its BlueTec alliance with DaimlerChrysler and Audi. The BlueTec alliance was started by the three carmakers last year.
Volkswagen has also scheduled the launching of a smaller Jetta in America in 2008. It will also be equipped with NOx storage catalytic converter that eliminates up to 90 percent of nitrogen oxides. Both the Touareg BlueTDI and Jetta are scheduled to debut in Europe. The Euro 4 standard currently specifies a NOx limit of 0.25 g/km while the US standard which Volkswagen Touareg BlueTDI satisfies specifies a NOx limit of 0.043 g/km or 0.07 g/mile. Aside from the remarkable NOx catalytic converters that Touareg and Jetta have, they are also equipped with heavy duty VW axles.
It should be noted that the Touareg TDI had successfully towed a Boeing 747 and was made possible by its especially modified VW axle. By towing the 155 ton Boeing 747, Volkswagen Touareg has displayed not only the prowess of its engine but also the durability and power of every component.
The SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) Catalytic Converter
SCR is short for “Selective Catalytic Reduction”. Its main function is to selectively convert the nitrogen oxide or NOx exhaust components to nitrogen and water without producing any undesirable byproducts. Volkswagen’s Touareg BlueTDI which will debut at the Geneva Motor show will also feature an oxidation catalytic converter and a diesel particulate filter.
Water-based urea solution like AdBlue is used in converting the nitrogen oxides. The urea solution is stored in an auxiliary tank on the Touareg BlueTDI. It is in the auxiliary tank wherein the 32.5 percent urea is continuously sprayed into the exhaust stream before the SCR catalytic converter. It is measured based on the mass flow of the exhaust. An engine management system after obtaining information from a Nox sensor located after the SCR catalytic converter makes sure that everything is correctly regulated.
The urea solution is atomized into fine spray by a screen and transformed in the hot exhaust has stream upstream of the catalytic converter. It is in the SCR catalytic converter where the nitrogen oxide is split into nitrogen and water. The water-based additive AdBlue is an odorless, non-toxic and biodegradable solution.
The AdBlue is consumed at an average rate of about 0.1 liter per 100 kilometers. The tank and consumption are measured so that the AdBlue supply can last up to the next scheduled service.

Save Your Money At The Pump The Bay Area Way
By Katie Jones
When problems do arise, it serves as a test of character as well as a test of just how innovative people could get. The imagination of the problem-faced individual would be put to work so as to find a solution. And in the world where gas and fuel is a daily need in life, people from the Bay Area have found ways so as to spend less on gas.
One of the popular ways that has been cooked up so as to let people save on fuel is through the 511 Regional Rideshare Program which has first started up in the mentioned place. It is a service given for free online and through the phones. People would have to call in or get information online and then those who are working behind the program would then be matching locations and times up. Such a task is done so as to let people have carpools and vanpools.
At present, the people behind such a program has thought up of another scheme. Their new one is actually offered to people who do commuting every day. If they choose to take part in the scheme, they would have to switch to carpools and in return, they would be given gas cards and Safeway gift cards. This one has started just last March 1st and its manager, Tad Widby, is quite enthusiastic about the program which he describes to be “a great way to beat the perfect storm of traffic congestion, high gas prices and global warming”. Indeed, he has a good and strong point there.
To make matters more interesting, the people behind the new project is not just offering such “prizes”. They are asking people to join in the carpool to get a gas card that would be worth $10. Or these new carpoolers can opt to have the Safeway gift cards. Now both gift cards will be given out for ever five days that they join the carpool. And if you are the lucky carpooler, you would be given the chance to take home a thousand dollars. But to be eligible for this huge award, you would have to join the carpool for at least 40 days.
Such a scheme is a great idea especially if you are saving up to purchase new auto body parts for your vehicle. And you would not only be saving money to get the other items you need, you would also be able to help out keep the environment clean and continuously green.

All-Electric Car From GM May To Hit Showrooms By 2010
By Joe Thompson
General Motors is currently working on the production of the Chevrolet Volt so that the vehicle would be ready by the year 2010. The Volt is an all-electric car which will be the answer of the world’s largest car manufacturer to the growing demand for cleaner cars. Reuters reported that GM is already working on plans to produce a working prototype by the end of this year. Bob Lutz, the product chief and Vice Chairman for GM, said that the car maker has already set a target for production of the Chevrolet Volt in 2010.
The soon to be mass produced electric car will be based on the concept vehicle that General Motors unveiled in January of this year. While the auto maker has already set a target for the production of the vehicle, there are still some problems in the design that they need to work on. Lutz said that they are more corned about whether lithium-ion batteries can be developed while keeping the cost of production down so as to make it affordable for car buyers. Another concern that Lutz pointed out is whether these lithium-ion batteries can power a vehicle safely. The car maker is already taking steps to address the said issues. General Motors will take an unusual step with regards to the development process of the Volt - they will open the development process to the media.
Aside from the aforementioned issue that needs to be addressed, Lutz is still not certain that the company will be able to attain their goal. “We’ve set an integral target production in 2010. Whether we can make that or not, this is still kind of an unpredictable program for us”, Lutz said.
It can be remembered that the concept car was showcased in the Detroit Auto Show last January this year. At the said event, General Motors made known to the public their plans for the all-electric vehicle. During that motor show though, GM did not announce a set production timeline. As a result, critics questioned the effort of GM to produce an electric car. Some went on to say that General Motors is not really going to mass produce the vehicle and is only interested in the amount of attention that the concept vehicle has generated.
In response to these allegations, Lutz said that: “Competitors who writes this of as a PR exercise are going to be brutally surprised.” It is well documented that cleaner cars have had strong acceptance and support from the public, and that is reason enough for an auto maker to produce an all-electric vehicle. If and when the Volt hit showrooms, we can only expect that it will have the same high quality performance of other GM cars.
After all, the Volt will also be using the same high quality GM parts like auto gaskets, under chassis parts, and body panels to name just a few.

Motor Trader Insurance - 4 Reasons How Insurance Brokers Can Help Your Business
By Gabriel J. Adams
Before we start to look at why using an insurance broker could be the perfect way to buy your Motor Trader Insurance let’s start off with a few supposed truths about the insurance industry.
Number 1 – Let’s be honest from the beginning and just say it – most people don’t like insurance. For most people losses rarely occur and therefore they are paying out insurance premiums year on year and yet they don’t actually see any real benefit of it.
Number 2 – Most people (even those who have suffered a loss and have made a claim) see insurance as too expensive with actual insurance companies seen as money grabbing and having no purpose other than to make money.
Number 3 – People see insurance as either boring and sold by men in suits or sold using annoying advertising on the television promising cheap or the cheapest insurance and delivering call centres who seemingly have replaced customer service with queues and staff who don’t really know what they are talking about.
If you’re a Motor Trader who needs to purchase Motor Trade Insurance and any of the 3 points above ring a bell with you then you really need to read on and discover just 4 reasons why using an insurance broker could be just what you need when you next buy your business insurance.
The first reason for using an insurance broker is that they can save you time. Yes you could spend time trawling the internet, thumbing through the yellow pages or ringing around a selection of insurance companies but you could also contact just 1 insurance broker and let them do the work for you. As a motor trader I’m sure you’re time could be put to better use elsewhere anyway.
The second reason why you might want to use an insurance broker when purchasing motor trader insurance is that providing they are independent (that is they have access to more than one policy) they can search to find you the very best cover. Cover that in some cases isn’t available anywhere else.
Another reason for choosing an insurance broker is that they can very often provide you with a level of service that you won’t find elsewhere. Go direct with an insurance company and there’s every chance you’ll be faced with queues, call centres and people without a real understanding of your needs. However choose the right insurance broker who understands the motor trade and you can benefit from advice and guidance aimed at reducing your exposure to risk. And in the event of a loss occurring they will even act on your behalf to make sure your claim is settled quickly and favourably.
The fourth and final reason why using an insurance broker could be just what you need when buying motor trade insurance is that they could save you money and we’d all no doubt like to be paying less for our insurance. A good broker will therefore be able to take advantage of the facilities they have with the leading insurance companies so you benefit from the cover, the service, the time savings and the premium savings all from the same source.
Motor Trade Insurance doesn’t have to complicated or expensive so find the right broker and make sure the price is right for your Business Insurance.

How to Rent a Car and Documents You Should Keep Handy When Renting a Car
By Aaron Brooks
In the US renting a car is common and people often use this convenience to travel from one place to another as well as within a city or town they are visiting. Whether you need a car within the US or abroad there are a few basics you need to keep in mind.
• First determine what you need. Write down details like what kind of car, for how many days, who will driver, how many will travel, do you need a baby seat, and so on.
• Second do a thorough online search for an ideal car rental agency that is reputable, rents out cars where you are going, and offers competitive rates.
When renting a car keep handy:
• A valid driver’s license.
• If you are driving abroad then your passport with valid visas.
• Proof of age.
• Any discount coupons.
• A booking voucher, if you have booked online.
• Car rental insurance if any.
• Copies of your health insurance.
• Proof of residence.
• Social security card.
• Credit card.
• If more than one person will drive the rental car then documents for the second driver too.
Most car rental companies only accept payment by credit card. Always read through the contract carefully and make sure you understand the fine print. If you have any questions contact customer service and find answers to your questions.
Before renting a car ask for an estimate. Determine clearly what the charges cover and if the company will bill for anything over and above the estimate. You must inspect the vehicle before taking possession and when you return the vehicle. Otherwise you may pay for scratches or bends you were not responsible for.
Tips:
• Find out who is responsible for fuel.
• Ensure that the rental company offers 24-hour roadside assistance.
• Ask if the contract includes pick up and drop off or whether you will be charged extra.
• Check whether your car insurance covers a rental car. Otherwise take additional car insurance, its best to avail one from independent insurance companies as they are more likely to offer a better deal than insurance sold by the car rental company.
• Find out if they will charge more for additional drivers.
• Check terms and conditions carefully to see if there are hidden costs.
• Check if the car papers are in order and find out when the car was last serviced.
• Always check whether the signals, lights, and breaks are in good working condition.
Always do comparisons of rates and before agreeing on a price ask if there are any special promotions being run or any offers like discounts to frequent fliers or AAA members. Many car rental agencies have in place a frequent user program with reward points. Since it is a fiercely competitive business you the consumer can benefit from their several marketing ploys employed by the car rental companies.
